I loved this book. I had watched this movie with my daughter and it was all I could do to stay awake, but in print...it was great. For me this was a great spiritual adventure in expanding my perceptions without being religious or dogmatic. I think the greatest take away for me was recognition of the possibility that all I had been taught to be absolute is not unless I choose to allow it to be so. But then, what the bleep do I know?I loved the way the authors presented some very new and complex paradigms. Although thought provoking, it was written in very easy to understand language leaving the reader with the tools needed to explore their beliefs to a greater extent. Was it Descartes that said, "I think, therefore I am?" I say, it is what I think that makes me who and what I am. Thank you authors.

For those who want to dive into the exploration of the unconscious mind that this is a great place to start. It touches on the science of thoughts and spiritual modalities, as well as has numerous thought-provoking questions for self-reflection. A must-read for anybody looking to improve their Spirit life or just to obtain a larger understanding of life in general.
I started reading it and I was fascinated with the topic, but got a little bored with too much scientific explanation. I stopped and purchased three other books that left the scientific explanation out and got right to the point. One of the books was E2, just to give you and idea. After reading the 3 books about quantum physics I was able to come back to this one and finish it. I learned from the book and I appreciate all the scientific research behind it, but I enjoyed the others better because they concentrate in giving you direct advise. If you heard about this book and you are still curious, I recommend the movie instead because the book talks about it constantly. I have not seen the movie, but with so much talk in the book maybe you can go directly to it and skip the book. Whatever your preference is; movie or book, I would still recommend either one as long as you select one because we all need to be educated in the subject.
Page after page of mind-bending concepts and discoveries. This is even better than the movie, if you can believe that! Lots of material that never made it into the movie. This is a must for any WTBDWK fans.
“What the bleep do we know?” is written like a teaser filled with interesting tidbits. It takes quotations from well-known scientists and researchers and asks you questions about their ideas. The book does not attempt to give answers. It pushes you to find answers for yourself. As such the book is quite ‘pushy.’ Each chapter ends with around 10 questions. They aren’t easy to answer. You will have to rack your brains. The questions challenge your current worldview and paradigms. They encourage you to introspect and if necessary liberate yourself from self-limiting dogma whether it be from science, psychology, or religion.
Here is a sample of the questions
1. What paradigm governs your reality?
2. What is the predominant world paradigm?
3. Is the Bible a Paradigm?
4. What is your new paradigm?
5. Have you hijacked your own search for the truth?
6. What are the dogmas in your own life?
7. What is the difference between science and religion?
If you don’t want to get into the nitty-gritty questions, the book is still worth reading if you just need a basic introduction into various mysteries and debates on a host of subjects.
Sample
1. Science and religion
2. Sight and perception
3. Quantum physics
4. Consciousness
5. Mind over matter
6. Emotions
7. Addictions
In short easy and fun to read book, but exhausting to think about. As such the authors have done the relatively 'easy’ part – compiling the information. The reader does the hard part – understanding it.
Full disclosure I am a peer-reviewed researcher and author on science and spirituality as well as emerging new connections between ancient yoga and the Bible. ~ Sanjay C Patel
I read this book when I was in high school. I found it in a thrift shop for a dollar and flower in love with the ideas. It literally changed my life, and a few weeks ago a little voice told me that I needed to read it again. I bought the kindle version because the hard cover version I have was too distracting to read, but I'm glad that I have it because the pictures in it were amazing for explaining the ideas. The kindle version is better now for rereading it, especially since my adhd has really taken off lately, but the hardcover is amazing. I'm so glad I re-read this, every concept has proven to be true in my life and I'm amazed by the ideas and wisdom in here. Keep an open mind and it will stretch your brain in the best sort of way.
I've watched the movie dozens of times, so perhaps I'm biased.
I found the book to be a nice way to revisit many of the concepts in the movie, and to do so on my own timeline. I love it because it prompted so many "put down the book and think" moments.
I was worried I'd find it boring because I HAVE seen the movie so many times, but that wasn't the case. There is new (or at least extended) material here to enrich your understanding. It's presented in a readable fashion (not a huge fan of the split-page narratives, myself), and features most or all of the folks from the movie.
You can feel from the style of writing that the authors/directors of What the Bleep developed personal relationships with their audience. The book has a very personal feel for that reason, and might serve as a "blankie" for folks who can't get enough of the Bleep and its characters.
Good job people.
